
Matt Nagel is a trusted communications leader with over 15 years of experience in PR agency and in-house roles. He currently serves as Director, Product and Technology PR at Splunk, a Cisco company. In this role, he manages a high-performing team focused on product communications across Splunk’s security, observability and platform portfolios, as well as partner PR initiatives.
Matt brings deep expertise in cybersecurity, enterprise tech, and strategic storytelling. Prior to Splunk, he led security and privacy PR at Zoom, where he managed critical communication initiatives, including the successful launch of Zoom’s end-to-end encryption feature. His previous experience also includes roles at Amazon, where he drove media strategy for Fire tablets and emerging devices, and at Symantec, where he led global communications for security research — spanning topics from election security to cybercrime.
Throughout his career, Matt has built and maintained strong relationships with top-tier media, mentored communications teams, and developed high-impact narratives for some of the world’s most recognized technology companies.
He holds an Executive M.B.A. from the Quantic School of Business and Technology, and a B.A. from U.C. Davis. He also earned a “Certified in Cybersecurity” certification from ISC2.
